Think Pink 4 Her

"A merry (happy or cheerful) heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones" Proverbs 17:22

***Warning!! This is my breast humor! If you are easily offended, skip this tab!!***

The irony of having double mastectomy the day before Thanksgiving !

They injected me with fluid the day before to "plump up" the lymph nodes.  Then the day of surgery they carved my breasts and now there are NO LEFTOVERS!!

I put in my application, but I'm not sure if I will get a call back

Things you don't have to worry about after a double mastectomy with no immediate reconstruction:

  • Wearing a bra!                              I have always enjoyed not wearing one, but let's face it, there are just some places you HAVE to wear one.  But not now!
  • Getting cold and others being able to see your nipples!       Hard to see what isn't there anymore!
  • Weight Loss!                                 It is instant and you don't have to diet. And now some of those "tight" shirts are now too BIG!!
  • You look younger!                  Let's face it, your chest now looks like a 10 year old girl! So just go with it and know you are loved just the way you are!
My New favorite shirt!! Coming soon to the online store!!!

Part of this mental process is preparing yourself for what is to come.  It is so important to grieve before your surgery as well as after.  This is a big deal. It is a life changing moment!  So as part of my grieving BEFORE surgery, I held my own "Itty Bitty Goodbye Titty" Party.  This was the menu :)  Our breasts do not define who we are, but they are a big part of what we are... a woman.

My husband does not like this one but it still cracks me up!

I told my husband that after my surgery if he wants to play basketball, I will play shirts and skins with him, only I get to be skins!
